Are you at the beginning of your career and want to work as a software developer in a technically complex environment? We are now looking for someone who wants to be in a role where you can work with the entire development process, close to the business, and develop with the support of both a mentor and a training program while bringing new thoughts and ideas. 

Working as a Software Developer 

As a software developer for our client, you will have a broad and varied role. It is important that you enjoy working with the entire development process – from analysis and design to implementation and maintenance. Solutions are developed in close collaboration with the business, where the focus is always on meeting both internal needs and customer requirements.

You will work in a technical environment with one of the bank's core systems, which is built in Cobol and is very database-intensive, often with advanced SQL. The team is also responsible for the development and maintenance of a Java-based system. Both systems are characterized by high complexity, as new development must interact with existing older solutions. Our client is open to using new technology and modern tools – for example, they have recently started using GitHub and Microsoft Copilot.

Main Responsibilities: 

• New development and maintenance of system solutions
• Design and testing of systems, creating system specifications
• Communication with the business regarding recommendations for system solutions
• The team is on standby to ensure that the system always functions

The role is located in Gothenburg.

Being a Consultant at Nexer Tech Talent

For this role, you will be employed by Nexer Tech Talent but work for our client in Gothenburg starting in the fall. You will also participate in a tailored training program where you will have the opportunity to develop and deepen your technical skills in various areas. 

You will be coached by a mentor at our client as well as a consulting manager at Nexer Tech Talent. As a consultant with us, you will be well taken care of and often invited to joint activities such as lectures, after-work events, and lunch meetings. After successfully completing the consulting assignment, the intention is that you will be offered a position with our client.

We are looking for someone who is driven, curious, and has a strong desire to develop – both as an individual and together with the team. You have patience, enjoy solving problems, and approach challenges with a solution-oriented and analytical mindset. It is also valuable if you have the ability to see the big picture and understand how technology contributes to the business.

Furthermore, we see that you:

• Are at the beginning of your career and have a degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field. 
• Have an interest in technology and programming 
• Have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. 

• Experience in software development in a similar technical environment or similar tasks
• Have an interest in fintech
