Student Assistant at Forslundagymnasiet

Forslundagymnasiet is a nature-based upper secondary school located in a beautiful rural environment just 5 km from Umeå city center.

The school has approximately 200 students, including adapted upper secondary education and adult education in gardening and land and construction. The adapted upper secondary school offers two programs, SMD (forest, land, and animals) and FAB (property, construction, and building). Students' days are a mix of practical and vocational preparation moments and theoretical teaching.

The school operates its own farm, with about 60 dairy cows, calves, and a sheep flock. For crop production, there are 190 hectares of arable land, all produced organically. The school also has a student residence. It features a horse stable, a dog training hall, and an animal house with about 100 different species of small animals (fish, birds, reptiles, mammals).

We are now looking for a reliable student assistant for our adapted upper secondary school.

Your Responsibilities

You will follow students with intellectual disabilities throughout the school day, both on vocational days and in theoretical classes. You will support students during transitions and during lessons, both individually and in groups.

You will assist with their learning, adapt teaching to individual needs, and create a safe environment. You will collaborate with teachers and special educators, accompany students to activities, and support them in social situations.

About You

You have knowledge of intellectual disabilities or NPF diagnoses in adolescents/young adults. You also have experience working as a student assistant or in other ways with youth with intellectual disabilities.

We prefer that you are trained as a childcare worker, student assistant, leisure leader, or leisure educator.

You have a good ability to build trusting relationships with both students and colleagues. You are responsible and structured, with a good ability to plan and adapt your working methods to different needs and situations. Your flexibility allows you to quickly adjust when circumstances change, and you enjoy collaborating in a team to create a positive and supportive environment for everyone.

There are pets in the workplace, so you should not be allergic.
