Adult Care Worker/Treatment Assistant for Open Care Adults

We are temporarily expanding our team within the Adult Investigation and Enforcement operations and are looking for an adult care worker/treatment assistant for Open Care Adults for a temporary position. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of a team where we work mostly for others but also for each other.

The Social Office is the municipality's largest department. One of the department's divisions is the Individual and Family Care (IFO) which works with support for children, young people, and their families. IFO is divided into three operational branches: Child and Youth Investigation, Adult Investigation and Enforcement, and Child and Youth Enforcement.

Within the Adult Investigation and Enforcement branch, there are the Adult Investigation Team, Open Care Adults, the Financial Support Unit, and Solkraft. Open Care Adults consists of the following operations: Torpvägen Short-Term Accommodation, Oden Counseling, Nepo Team, DD Team, and Housing First.

The temporary position will initially be based at Torpvägen Short-Term Accommodation, which is part of Open Care Adults. It is a drug-free short-term accommodation with six places for individuals with alcohol and/or drug dependencies. The working methods include both supportive conversations and some practical assistance. In addition to the accommodation, Torpvägen also has an open care operation that supports individuals in their own homes. The work is scheduled from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of Flex.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, as the role may involve work within several of Open Care Adults' operations. The temporary position extends throughout 2025.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an adult care worker/treatment assistant, you work on behalf of social workers, focusing on the needs and conditions of individuals.

In your role, you meet individuals with long-term problems with alcohol and/or drugs and other social and/or mental health issues. Your assignment is based on the individual's needs and conditions. It often involves support in contact with authorities, motivational work to reduce drug intake, and providing some practical support. You create implementation plans and work together with your clients to help them achieve their goals, both through supportive conversations and practical assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with experience working with individuals with dependency issues. You are a trained social worker or have another qualification deemed equivalent. We consider it an advantage if you have training in conversation methodology or motivational interviewing (MI) as well as knowledge of low-affect responses. It is also beneficial if you have collaborated with various stakeholders in the past.

A valid driver's license is a requirement for the position, as well as good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as communication and documentation are part of daily work.

To succeed in this role, you need to be flexible, have good collaboration and initiative skills, and the ability to independently plan, implement, and follow up on interventions. You believe that change is possible and can convey calmness and a positive feeling to your clients even in difficult circumstances.

The Social Office's employees provide care, support, and assistance to people throughout Skellefteå. They may be elderly, individuals with physical or mental disabilities, or individuals and families in need of special support for a period.
