EFS Västerbotten is looking for a priest 50-100% for EFS Skellefteå

Are you a priest, passionate about mission, wanting people to get to know Jesus and for God's kingdom to grow? Are you willing to think outside the box and believe that God can call, transform, and use ordinary people in His service? Then you are the person we need in a growing Skellefteå to lead and develop God's work together with us.

Skellefteå EFS is in an exciting phase. Our church, EFS Church, is located in the heart of Skellefteå, in a city that is currently growing the fastest in the country. We are excited about the new opportunities this opens up and have big plans and hopes for the coming years.

The plans build on our vision of Hope, Care, Development, and Openness, which you can read more about on our website. We are currently putting together a new puzzle of employees, volunteers, and new initiatives, and the role of priest is an important piece of that puzzle.

We are looking for you who is ordained as a priest and shares EFS's faith and values. The possible scope of the position is 50-100%, but exactly how large the working hours will be will be decided in consultation with you. We highly value personal suitability in the appointment of the position. It is an advantage if you have previously worked or been engaged in EFS.

The job responsibilities include the following:

● Preach at our services and provide spiritual deepening for the association's members, including a growing number of new Swedes.

We are pleased with a well-attended church and that more and more newcomers are finding their way to our community. We want to manage this trust by offering good, everyday preaching and opportunities for spiritual deepening in the form of small groups and theme meetings. You will play an important role in this work.

● Be responsible for the association's member care in collaboration with the association's care group

We believe that caring for one another is an important part of the Christian community and therefore want to develop our work with care for the association's members. Together with the association's operations manager, you will lead this work, and you will have a care group consisting of volunteers of various ages to assist you. The work involves seeing each other in church but also:

> having pastoral conversations

> visiting members who have difficulty attending services

> contacting members who do not come to services

> having introductory conversations with new members

> having conversations with members who leave the association

● Coach our youth and train volunteers

EFS Church is somewhat of a hub for the follow-up confirmation work in northern Västerbotten and also has a group of Young Adults. Together with our team and EFS Västerbotten, you will guide and inspire the youth and help train volunteers who are also involved in this important work.

● Work on the continued development of EFS Church together with the association's board.

The position is a permanent employment that begins with a 6-month probationary period. The employment is governed by the agreement between the Employers' Alliance and Vision Ecumenical, with EFS Västerbotten as the employer. Working hours: trust-based working hours.
