The Social Care Administration in Borås City is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health and medical care interventions for the mentioned target groups. The administration has approximately 1000 employees and 45 managers. Support Pedagogue in Personal Assistance and AKL

Job Responsibilities

The support measures should promote the person's integrity and participation and be carried out with respect for the person's self-determination. The person should receive support and the right to decide over their life and develop their abilities to live as independently as possible. Observation and mapping of needs, implementation plans, documentation, and follow-up of individual goals are the foundation of the staff's work.

The support pedagogue has knowledge of methods such as: clarifying pedagogy, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), low-arousal approach, motivational interviewing, sensory stimulation, and adaptation of physical and mental environments.

The support pedagogue's work includes supporting colleagues in using relevant methods to develop the person's participation and independence. The support pedagogue has in-depth knowledge and supports/guides their colleagues in working with implementation plans, documentation, job descriptions, and follow-up of goals. The support pedagogue should, when necessary, support colleagues with adapting the person's activities at home, as well as with contacts and collaboration with relatives/guardians and other networks.

The support pedagogue's responsibility is to develop and drive the educational work in the organization together with colleagues and the unit manager. The responsibility includes seeking, obtaining, and disseminating new knowledge about educational methods in the organization. The support pedagogue initiates, together with colleagues, the need for competence development. The support pedagogue will be part of a network with the administration's other pedagogues.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you have a post-secondary education that includes at least 200 YH credits or 60 university credits. This education should have a clear focus on the disability area. You should have knowledge of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) and clarifying pedagogy.

Experience from work within LSS and/or psychiatry is a requirement. Knowledge of personal assistance, intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health issues is meritorious for this position.

The work requires good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
