At Knowit Connectivity, we are now looking for curious and driven Applied AI Engineers who want to help build our investment in AI – and be a key player in shaping future solutions together with our clients and teams.  The position is open across Sweden – you can be based at any of our offices, e.g. Gothenburg, Stockholm, Malmö, Linköping, Örebro, Östersund, Umeå, or Jönköping.

What will you do?

As an Applied AI Engineer, you will work closely with both clients and internal development teams to design and implement AI components in concrete projects – from concept to production deployment. You will be a central technical force in deliveries related to everything from defense, automotive, and telecom to the public sector.

This includes, among other things:

• Building technical solutions using large language models (LLM)
• Evaluating and comparing different LLM architectures depending on use cases
• Implementing RAG solutions and optimizing their performance
• Working with vector databases and information retrieval
• Integrating AI solutions with backends and APIs
• Developing agent-based AI solutions
• Ensuring data security, privacy, and PII management in AI systems
• Contributing to internal competence development in AI

You will collaborate with teams where we already have ongoing assignments within, for example, the Courts Authority, municipal sector, and product companies with a wide variety of technical environments and challenges.

We believe you have:

• About 5 years of experience in software development, with 1–3 years in AI
• Worked with or implemented solutions based on LLM (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, etc.)
• Practical experience with RAG and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS)
• Good knowledge of backend/API development – preferably with Python, Node.js, or similar
• Used to thinking “Security First,” with an understanding of handling personal data in AI solutions
• Experience in industries such as telecom, embedded, or automotive

Meritorious:

• Knowledge of standards such as ISO 26262 or ISO/SAE 21434
• Interest in developing towards roles such as project manager, scrum master, or tech lead
