Fysikum is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science, with extensive fundamental research activities, both experimental and theoretical. The department has approximately 250 employees, of which about 95 are doctoral students, and it has an international character.

Fysikum includes, among other things, Medical Radiation Physics, which is responsible for research and training of hospital physicists, carried out in close collaboration with Karolinska University Hospital.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for employment as a university lecturer, the applicant must have demonstrated pedagogical skills and have completed a doctoral degree or possess equivalent qualifications relevant to the subject matter of the position and the tasks to be included in the employment.

A hospital physicist degree or equivalent is required for the position.

All teaching positions at Stockholm University require the applicant to have the ability to collaborate and suitability to fulfill the tasks.

Assessment Criteria

During the employment process, special emphasis will be placed on scientific and pedagogical skills. Scientific skills will primarily be assessed within the subject area of the position.

Importance will also be given to:

experience in teaching non-clinical medical radiation physics
skills in educational administration.

Higher Education Pedagogical Training

Higher education pedagogical training or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways is meritorious. An applicant lacking higher education pedagogical training of at least 15 higher education credits and who is not assessed to have acquired equivalent knowledge in other ways must undergo such training within the first two years of employment.
