Do you want to contribute to top-quality medical research?
The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics conducts research in epidemiology and biostatistics across a wide range of areas within biomedical science.
The department is among the largest in its field in Europe and has particularly strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmacological, genetic, and geriatric epidemiology, eating disorders, precision medicine, and biostatistics.
Part of the success of the department is due to our collaborative spirit, where a major contributing factor is that researchers at the department share and co-finance common resources (such as IT and an applied biostatistics group). The department is located on the Solna campus. More information is available at http://ki.se/meb (http://ki.se/meb).
In the research group 'Cardiometabolic Epidemiology and Aging,' we study obesity and cardiometabolic health in relation to the risk of dementia and other age-related diseases. We use large data sets from several longitudinal cohort studies, including the Swedish Twin Registry. The research group is part of the research environment 'Epidemiology of Aging,' which brings together researchers with different focus areas such as twin studies, genetic and molecular epidemiology, and pharmacoepidemiology.

Your role
The recruited postdoctoral fellow is expected to conduct research on cardiometabolic health and dementia with the help of longitudinal data from several cohorts, including biomarkers, genetic data, and registry data. The postdoctoral fellow will also participate in student supervision, project management, and grant applications. The work is partly within the international consortium 'Interplay of Genes and Environment across Multiple Studies (IGEMS),' which allows for international collaborations and, if interested, the opportunity for research stays abroad.
