Social Worker at NU Health Care

NU Health Care is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.

About the operation:

The social worker reception at NU Health Care provides services to all somatic clinics at the hospital.

In collaboration with other healthcare staff, the social worker is responsible for contributing to adequate care and treatment for patients and relatives with psychosocial needs after assessment. Care and treatment in the curative work is based on science and proven experience. All social workers at the reception are offered regular supervision. The social worker reception has the task of linking medical problems to the patient's psychosocial situation and ensuring that these are integrated into the care work. Support and crisis conversations, as well as information about community resources for patients, are important tasks for the social worker. The social worker also has a regulated activity such as abortion consultations, contact tracing of venereal diseases, and investigation for kidney donation.

About the position:

The main part of the work consists of psychosocial treatment work; crisis and support conversations with patients and their relatives. You will also contribute with expertise regarding social legal legislation and community resources in the social area. In certain areas, the social worker also participates in the departments' interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

A degree in social work or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Experience in social work and being a licensed healthcare social worker is meritorious. Desirable to have psychotherapeutic further education level 1.
