Job Responsibilities

KTH is now seeking two qualified and engaged economists for the finance department.

The two positions will be placed within two of the groups in the department that work to support the School of Industrial Technology and Management (ITM) and the School of Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Health (CBH). The role of the EU economist plays an important part in supporting the school's institutions and their researchers/project leaders in financial administrative matters within EU-funded projects.

As an EU economist with us, you will be responsible for the financial management of research projects, from calculations for grant applications, budgeting for approved projects to project reporting. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the school's researchers/project leaders. The work includes tasks such as:

• advising and supporting calculations for applications
• project budgeting after approved applications
• year-end closing and monitoring of revenues and expenses within EU-funded grant projects, financial reporting to the funder, and participation in audits in accordance with EU regulations and KTH's internal guidelines
• communication with the EU Commission and participating partners to ensure compliance with financial and administrative requirements
• supporting researchers throughout the project cycle, from application to completed projects with a focus on financial administrative tasks
• other tasks may also occur

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in economics or work experience deemed equivalent
• Experience working independently with accounting and reporting of grant-funded projects
• Experience working with budgets and forecasts and supporting project leaders and other management functions in financial matters
• Communicative ability and the ability to explain financial concepts in an understandable way
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing – both languages are required in daily work as we operate in an international environment
• Good knowledge of the Office suite
• Experience working in business systems (e.g., Agresso, SAP, or similar)

Meritorious

• Experience with year-end closing
• Experience with similar tasks within KTH or another higher education institution or another research-intensive organization or authority
• Experience working in Agresso
