The Nephrology Clinic in Karlstad is part of the inpatient care area and has a county-wide responsibility for kidney care in Värmland.

Currently, about 110 employees work at the clinic. The clinic is an independent nephrology clinic that offers complete nephrological investigations and treatments, except for kidney transplants, which are performed at the transplant centers in Uppsala/Gothenburg. We take care of transplanted patients early after surgery.

The clinic has a care department with 16 beds for nephrological investigations/treatments. Our outpatient clinic receives approximately 3,000 visits per year, including check-ups for about 190 transplanted patients. The clinic operates dialysis services with around 100 patients in Karlstad, 20 patients at a dialysis satellite clinic in Torsby, and another 20 patients at the dialysis satellite clinic in Arvika. The clinic also runs a well-functioning peritoneal dialysis (PD) service.

The care team includes a kidney failure coordinator, dietitian, physiotherapist, and social worker, which means we can offer complete care. The clinic participates in research and development work.

Your Responsibilities

Your task is to complement the medical care with psychosocial knowledge from a holistic perspective. You are an important part of the chain where you, as a social worker, have a coordinating function, becoming a link between healthcare and the surrounding community, as well as the clinic's expert on social legislation and various forms of community support. The work involves varied tasks within our different specialties and includes teamwork and professional communication with crisis management, support, or change. You are part of a network for somatic inpatient social workers in Region Värmland and have the opportunity for external supervision. Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.

Your Skills/Competencies

We are looking for someone with a recognized degree in social work, which is a requirement. Your personal qualities are of great importance, and we appreciate that you are an open, secure, positive, and engaged person. Other valued qualities include being flexible and having an easy time collaborating.

We prefer that you are a licensed healthcare social worker and have basic psychotherapy training. We also appreciate if you have several years of experience in the profession.
