Engineer in Defense Systems

Do you have experience working with technical systems and are you interested in working with both existing and future defense systems? Job Responsibilities

As an engineer, you will work with both existing and future systems for defense material, where the tasks vary depending on the project's assignment and which phase of the lifecycle the material is in. You will support the project manager in designated technical areas and ensure that the systems meet the Armed Forces' requirements for performance and system security. The work involves planning and executing work throughout the production process together with the project team, while also contributing to the development of work methods and processes.

In this position, you will work with today's existing systems, such as mortars, and with new capabilities such as patrol robots and rocket artillery. An important part of the work is to participate in tests with new systems to enable future acquisitions and ensure that existing systems maintain their functionality.

Furthermore, you will be involved in technical investigations, create technical publications according to regulations and instructions, and participate in procurements. You will be an important part of the project team, where you support with your expertise to achieve set goals. In this role, you will have close contact with the Armed Forces as well as FMV's suppliers.

The position is based in Stockholm. Travel in the service occurs, both domestically and internationally.

We are looking for you who

We are looking for someone with a civil or university engineering degree or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have several years of relevant and current work experience in a technical field where you have worked with technical specifications and requirements work. Furthermore, you have a good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, as well as a B driver's license.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with drones (UAV/UAS) or have worked with machine learning, AI, or automation. We see it as a benefit if you have experience working in projects and if you have experience with FMV's or the Armed Forces' operations.

We believe that you are a person who enjoys collaborating with others and you are persistent in your work. Furthermore, we believe that you drive your work in a structured and organized manner until results are achieved or projects are completed. You are self-sufficient in your work and have good judgment. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

About Us

The Armament Material area procures material for the Army and Home Guard that enables military units to fulfill their tasks in peace, crisis, and war, now and in the future. This also involves research and development and a large number of international collaborations. After the material has been delivered and used by the users, the Armament Material supports the Armed Forces with the maintenance service of the material.

The position is located in the Indirect Fire unit and the section for Artillery and Mortar Systems. Our most important task is to provide material to military units in close cooperation with the Armed Forces.
