Sotenäs Municipality has launched a new unit that is responsible for labor market initiatives, adult education, and financial assistance, and is in an exciting development process where we are building a new operation together.

The unit consists of a team of 13 employees, with different roles, striving to develop a more coordinated and integrated teamwork to better meet the often complex needs of the target group.

We are looking for social workers who want to contribute to ensuring that individuals receive the right support. Social workers have close supervision and the opportunity for guidance, as well as good opportunities for professional development through training with colleagues.

Responsibilities

The position of social worker involves qualified investigative work and authority exercise. Part of the mission consists of investigating and assessing the right to financial assistance according to applicable legislation and regulations. Another important part of the work involves meeting, guiding, and coaching individuals to formulate their goals and achieve sustainable support in the form of work, studies, or other compensation.

We work with motivational interviewing (MI) and meet individuals regularly for follow-up and support. We work relationship-building and start from the individual's own goals and motivation. You will collaborate with other important actors, both internally and externally, within the municipality's and administration's own operations, across municipal borders with, among others, healthcare, the Employment Service, and the Social Insurance Agency.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree in social work or another academic education that the employer deems equivalent. We prefer that you have previous experience working with the processing of financial assistance, have good knowledge of applicable legislation, and a strong interest in the mission and target group. You need to have good communication skills both verbally and in writing.

To succeed in your mission, you must be responsible, flexible, clear, and trustworthy. We also see that you are goal-oriented and actively work to achieve goals. You must have the ability to adapt your working method based on the individual's needs. It is important that you see opportunities rather than obstacles.

As a person, you are self-sufficient, stable, can handle high workloads, and maintain a realistic perspective. It is also equally important that you are aware that we are each other's working environment and contribute to a good collegial climate.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
