The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy Cooling System has a global responsibility for the development and manufacturing of cooling systems for power electronics applications and other applications that require high-reliability water cooling systems. Our cooling system solutions contribute to a safe and reliable operation where customer and quality are in focus.

As an electrical designer at Hitachi Energy Cooling Systems, you will be responsible for designing parts or entire control cabinet solutions, low-voltage switchgear for motor control (MCC), and junction boxes for our cooling system solutions. You will be part of our electrical design and automation group, working broadly with electrical design and automation in both project environments and R&D. In this role as an "Electrical Designer," you will, under the guidance of the responsible project engineer, prepare electrical documentation for our delivery projects.

This role includes a technical responsibility to maintain Hitachi's quality and adhere to applicable standards and specifications. Some of your time will be dedicated to aftermarket issues for technical support in already delivered projects.

Since our production is in Landskrona and thus we have a responsibility towards the production staff, you can expect that work will largely take place on-site in Landskrona, but some flexibility for remote work is available.

How You Will Contribute

  • Electrical design according to customer specifications, component selection, and solutions.
  • Electrical design of control cabinets, low-voltage switchgear (MCC), and junction boxes. Normal voltages, power 208/400/480/690VAC, and control 24-220VDC.
  • Entry of items and BOM lists in the business system (SAP).
  • Prepare and work according to applicable quality documentation, process maps, work instructions, functional descriptions, cheat sheets, etc.
  • Creation of specifications for subcontractors.
  • Under the guidance of a lead engineer, carry out long-term improvements within your segment.
  • Aftermarket support through troubleshooting and development of solutions as needed.
  • Participate in various component testing, factory tests, FAT, and supplier evaluations.
  • Commissioning for SAT as well as supplier visits and other trips may occur.

Your Background

  • You have very good knowledge of Swedish and excellent knowledge of technical English, which you can use both verbally and in writing.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical design in relevant industries such as machinery manufacturing, process industries, water and wastewater treatment plants. Some years in project operations. You have a post-secondary education or a technical education and extensive experience in a relevant profession.
  • Have previously worked with electrical design solutions in project deliveries from market to commissioning.
  • Very good knowledge of Elprocad or other relevant CAD tools.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of redundant solutions.
  • Good knowledge of IEC61439, IEC61000-6-2 / IEC 6100-6-4.
  • Meritorious: PLC programming, UL / CSA standard, construction according to UL / CSA. Good knowledge of the Machinery Directive and practical experience in control panel construction (automation).
