As an automation engineer, you will support the operation of our facilities with problem-solving, technical development, and continuous improvements, while also contributing your expertise in smaller and larger projects where the rollout of our new DCS system Mimer follows as a common thread, see more info below.

You will primarily work with our facilities in Lund, but also other facilities as needed. Your tasks include:

• Supporting our operational units through management, operation, maintenance, and development of VA SYD's automation solutions.
• Optimizing and developing our purification processes together with colleagues at VA SYD.
• Programming and commissioning automation systems at facilities.
• Participating in projects as a technical specialist and receiver.
• Providing support during requirement specifications for procurements.
• Continuously working to standardize our automation solution.
• Promoting increased digitization in collaboration with other departments and units.

The automation group you will be part of is part of the Maintenance Unit, which conducts and develops maintenance work at VA SYD's facilities for drinking water, wastewater treatment, and associated facilities for controlling and regulating the pipeline network. In the unit, we work cross-functionally and solution-oriented to solve our mission. We currently have 8 automation engineers in the group, but to handle our upcoming challenges, we have a great need to grow. Together, we have a broad knowledge of automation, information management, and work both preventively and remedially with maintenance.

Your experiences

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree or vocational education with a focus on automation or another technical education that, combined with your work experience, is deemed equivalent.
• Work experience in industrial automation, preferably from the process industry. Several years of experience is considered an advantage.
• Experience in programming and development (PLC and SCADA/DCS systems).
• Familiarity with industrial communication solutions (e.g., Profinet and OPC).
• A valid driver's license (B).
• The ability to communicate well in Swedish (spoken and written).

It is an advantage if you have experience with automation solutions from ABB such as AC800m, AC500, and 800xA.
