Strategic Purchaser for the Swedish Armed Forces Procurement Unit

About the Unit

The Swedish Armed Forces Procurement Unit is located within the FMLOG unit (Swedish Armed Forces Logistics) and is responsible for the Armed Forces' acquisitions and purchases in accordance with current procurement legislation. The work we carry out is crucial for the Armed Forces' supply as well as strategic and operational success. We work according to established category-driven methodology and continuously focus on competence development.

The procurement unit consists of seven departments geographically spread across Sweden. This position is located within the Workplace Services department. The department is responsible for acquisitions and contracts in several categories including soldier equipment, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, workshops, ironmongery, and building materials. Here, you will have the opportunity to take on significant personal responsibility while working within your category team. Main Responsibilities

In your role as a strategic purchaser, you will, among other things:

• Independently plan and conduct complex procurements, from developing commercial strategies, conducting needs analyses and market research prior to procurement, to developing tender documents, conducting tender evaluations, and leading supplier negotiations.
• Be responsible for maintaining strong business relationships with your suppliers and ensuring continuous monitoring of your contracts and suppliers.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and clients.
• Participate in various working groups and Armed Forces exercises.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you need to have:

• An academic degree in law, economics, logistics, procurement, or a related field, or a vocational education with a commercial focus and relevant work experience.
• Relevant experience in conducting complex procurements and experience in public procurement under LOU or LUFS.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written Swedish, as well as good communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Solid knowledge of MS Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Additional Information

The position is located in Boden with immediate access by agreement. Permanent employment commencing with a six-month probationary period. Travel is involved in the work, and the majority of the work is carried out on-site. Work samples and tests may occur during the recruitment process.
