Temporary Position as Meeting Place Host in Malmö

At Malmö City's 10 open meeting places for seniors, visitors have the opportunity to meet others to socialize, participate in various activities such as gymnastics, walking groups, entertainment, or lectures. Visitors can also come to just be, read a newspaper, chat for a while, and have a cup of coffee.

As one of our colleagues is going on parental leave, we are looking for a substitute for the meeting place Lyckan/Café Sommaren who wants to help create a meaningful everyday life for our older residents of Malmö. Meeting place Lyckan/Café Sommaren is located at Nydalatorget and is open during daytime, Monday to Friday. We offer a fun and stimulating job with great variety, welcome to join us!

Job Responsibilities

At our meeting places, you work with health promotion and prevention to contribute to visitors experiencing well-being and a meaningful everyday life based on their interests, wishes, and needs. Therefore, the meeting places offer community, participation, and various activities to strengthen well-being.

Together with your colleagues, you plan, lead, and develop the activities at the meeting places. You collaborate and keep in touch with associations and other actors, which is something we constantly strive to develop.

Qualifications

You are a trained elderly educator or have another education that the employer deems equivalent, e.g. social worker, social educator, public health scientist, or health educator. Knowledge and experience of working with the elderly are required. Previous experience in health promotion work is a merit. We prefer if you have experience in project management, coordination, collaboration, and/or network building.

You need to be flexible, have good computer skills, be able to cycle, and express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish. Being multilingual is a merit.
