Job Description

As a specialist in advanced analysis for the operation and maintenance of road and railway infrastructure, you work as a technical generalist with specialist expertise in data analysis. You will lead and develop assignments to provide better facts about the infrastructure so that the Swedish Transport Administration gets a "better grip on the infrastructure".

You will mainly work in a group of about 15 people in the Maintenance Analysis Factory, consisting of roles such as Data Strategist, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and business developers. Together with us, you will lead and develop various technical analysis assignments and work on the development of connected infrastructure through IIoT, mobile devices, etc., generating large amounts of data.

You will switch between several roles in the analysis factory, but primarily work as a data scientist and data strategist, where you, together with your team, conduct advanced data analyses and develop automated analysis flows using modern methods and tools in areas such as AI/ML/BI/Data Mining. The work also includes leading analysis assignments, providing expert support in the field of data analysis to other operations and projects, and participating in the strategic capability development in advanced analysis at the Swedish Transport Administration.

Together with the team in the Maintenance Analysis Factory, you will build a structured framework for connected infrastructure. You will develop how data should be refined to describe the infrastructure's condition in a fact-based manner. This may involve both existing data sets and data from new connected infrastructure. Analysis methods such as machine learning and deep learning will be applied, as well as traditional analysis methods in technical application areas. The new refined information flows are provided to stakeholders and are beneficial in maintenance operations.

As a Specialist in the Maintenance area, you may, based on previous experience and interest, deepen your knowledge in certain technical system areas within road and railway infrastructure, such as vehicle detectors, switches, geographic information, etc.

Examples of tasks:

• Develop analysis algorithms and data flows for data-driven condition-based maintenance
• Conduct technical investigations using advanced analysis of large data sets
• Initiate, lead, and follow up on larger and smaller development assignments in advanced analysis Maintain ongoing dialogue with the organization to identify new needs for advanced analysis and independently provide examples and demonstrations
• Provide expert support in advanced analysis and related IT to other operations
• Maintain ongoing dialogue between the infrastructure's technical areas and analysis resources during ongoing development assignments to ensure the work's relevance, goal orientation, and efficiency.
• Follow the technological development in selected system areas and independently initiate and conduct technical analyses.

Qualifications

Who are you?

You are a solution-oriented individual who has the ability to lead development work, interpret the organization's needs, and analyze and evaluate information. You are a responsive initiator who is structured, meticulous, and communicative.

We are looking for someone who:

• has a Master's degree in engineering, Master of Science, or equivalent that we consider equivalent
• has several years of experience working independently with advanced data analysis for technical applications
• has several years of experience working with Python, Spark, SQL, Mongo DB, and Power BI
• has experience working with container platforms based on OpenShift
• has several years of experience leading projects or assignments with multiple team members
• can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you:

• have several years of experience in road or railway infrastructure
• have experience in advanced data analysis in machine learning and artificial intelligence
• have experience in analyzing large data sets (Big Data)
• have current experience in advanced data analysis of switch heating systems in railway facilities.
