JOB DESCRIPTION

As a service officer in the Support & Care response group, you are the face of the entire Social Services Department. We work on behalf of all units within both individual and family care as well as elderly and disability services. We do not make official decisions, but we provide information on what citizens can expect when contacting social services.

You will provide information and service to citizens regarding all areas of Social Services. The work includes, among other things:

  • questions regarding social assistance
  • reports of concern regarding children and adults
  • family law issues regarding custody and visitation
  • reports and applications regarding the elderly and individuals with disabilities
  • guidance and information on guardianship to the supervisory authority
  • investigation of special transportation services on behalf of the region

Each service officer has contact responsibility for one or more units.

Your primary tool is the telephone, but you will also handle cases via email and physical visits. The pace is at times high, but the advantage with us is that you can leave work behind when you go home.

We can offer you a wonderful workgroup with broad expertise and developmental work. All employees at the Service Center are offered a wellness grant consisting of a fixed amount each year (3000 SEK, 2024) that can be used for health-promoting physical activity.

Working hours are 7.50-16.50 Monday-Thursday and 7.50-15.05 Friday, September-April. In May-August, we work two hours less per week when working full time.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a degree in social work or equivalent experience/education
  • experience in social work or work with social and/or community issues
  • prior experience in the service sector such as customer service, hotels, retail
  • very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
  • good knowledge of English
  • good IT skills and experience working with computers and information retrieval
  • the ability to work in multiple IT-based systems while conducting a call, searching for and managing information and data

Meritorious:

  • knowledge of how a municipality is structured, its organization and decision-making processes
  • experience in investigating the need for special transportation services
  • prior experience in customer service within public administration
  • experience with telephony and case management systems such as HelpDesk/Artvise
  • experience with operational systems such as Lifecare
  • knowledge of multiple languages in addition to Swedish and English

Personal qualities: We also place great emphasis on your personality. We are looking for someone who excels in service and customer interaction, a person who always puts the citizen first. Since you will be the face of the municipality, it is important that you are a good and clear communicator who demonstrates good judgment in your professional conduct. Precision is of great importance as the work involves a lot of documentation. You are well aware of the organization's goals and do your best to achieve them. You contribute with energy and commitment to the organization, and do not give up until the work is completed in a satisfactory manner.
