We at the Municipal Executive Board are now looking for an engaged Controller/Economist for our finance unit.
The finance unit has the overall responsibility for driving and developing financial management in the municipality, functioning as internal service within the financial area, and being responsible for procurement. We are now looking for you who want to contribute to our shared quality and development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As our new Controller/Economist, you will have a broad and varied role. The largest part involves being a qualified and consultative support to a department, where you contribute to ensuring that the department's financial resources are used in the best possible way. You will:
- Support the department with development, budgeting, follow-up, analysis, reporting, and some ongoing bookkeeping.
- Participate in the development of financial reporting and analysis tools together with colleagues.
- Attend political meetings and present financial issues.
A natural aspect is that you contribute to our effort to continuously improve and streamline our working methods. We value new ideas!
In an effort to increase quality assurance in the unit, we work to back each other up and help one another when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with experience working as a Controller/Economist and who has a relevant university degree in economics or another education that we consider equivalent.
You have solid knowledge of budgeting processes, financial analysis, and follow-up. Experience from public operations is meritorious but not a requirement.
With your expertise, you can coach and support managers in a way that strengthens both their financial competence and the department's results. Experience with the financial system Visma (for large organizations) and Hypergene is meritorious.
- You are skilled in Excel and have a general curiosity about new technical solutions.
- You enjoy taking responsibility and have the ability to develop processes.
- You are meticulous, structured, and stress-resistant, especially during peak work periods.
Being able to express oneself well in speech and writing is important.
