About the job

We see a changed security policy situation and a rebuilding of total defense in Sweden, which means that oversight of essential societal operations within the transport sector needs to be intensified. Therefore, we are now in a recruitment phase where we are looking for several competencies to contribute to our exciting mission in cybersecurity and security protection. Not least in cybersecurity, we have a challenging time ahead as the so-called NIS2 directive is to be implemented and applied in Swedish law. The Transport Agency's oversight covers all four modes of transport (sea, air, road, and rail).

You will work alongside colleagues in the areas of cyber/information security, security protection, and also with employees from the Transport Agency’s relevant areas. Therefore, it is important that you can build and maintain relationships both within and outside the authority.

Your work will include conducting oversight, participating in case handling, and collaborating internally within the authority and externally with other supervisory authorities, the Security Police, the Armed Forces, and the Agency for Civil Protection and Emergency Planning. The oversight consists largely of qualified investigative work, which requires the ability to express oneself in writing. Oversight may involve travel throughout Sweden. An important part of our mission is also to act as a guiding force towards our oversight objects.

You will

• contribute your expertise in cases within the framework of the Transport Agency's role as the sector-responsible supervisory authority over the transport sector in cyber/information security and security protection
• review and evaluate the compliance of operators with cyber/information security and security protection
• work with external guidance
• collaborate with other supervisory authorities
• participate in other assignments within the section.

You must have

• a university or college education of at least 180 credits (120 credits) in, for example, security, law, or alternatively another relevant education combined with work experience that we assess as equivalent
• very good ability to express yourself both in writing and verbally in Swedish

It is meritorious if you also have

• experience in information security, cybersecurity, IT security, or security protection
• knowledge of how the Swedish crisis preparedness system is structured
• experience in oversight
• practical experience in qualified auditing, review, or investigation
• very good ability to express yourself both in writing and verbally in English.

More information

The employment is permanent with placement in Norrköping. Appointment according to agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. As an employee with us, there is an opportunity to work remotely up to three days a week. It is the needs of the organization and the nature of the tasks that determine whether and to what extent this is possible. An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
