Your Responsibilities
We are looking for an internship coordinator for Birgittaskolan IVAS. In the role of internship/APL coordinator, you will play a key role in identifying, quality-assuring, and establishing internship placements for our students. You will actively seek and evaluate potential internship placements that match the individual needs and interests of the students, as well as build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses and public organizations. A central part of the work is to create and maintain a shared database of available internship placements with relevant information, as well as to quality-assure these placements through thorough risk assessments.
You will prepare students for their internships through individual conversations to identify their interests, strengths, and areas for development, and set individual goals in consultation with students, mentors, and workplaces. You will be responsible for developing common internship agreements and conducting introductions for students about workplace culture, labor law, and practical skills, as well as providing support and guidance to workplaces to create a welcoming and supportive internship environment.
During the internship period, you will establish clear communication channels and use relevant tools for communication between school, student, and workplace. You will conduct regular follow-up visits and tri-party meetings at the workplaces to ensure that the internship is functioning well, document and evaluate the internship period, and address any issues that arise.
Collaboration is an important part of the role, where you work together with teachers, mentors, and student health services. You will organize joint work through continuous team meetings to exchange experiences, develop strategies, and follow up on results, as well as collaborate and support other municipal high schools and programs that are in need of internship placements.
You will also be part of an operational internship team consisting of two other coordinators who collaborate to increase students' chances of employment or transition to further studies. The assignment also includes arranging study visits to workplaces and other actors.
Do you want to help shape this new position together with teachers, the principal, and student health services? We welcome your application!
