Communications Strategist for Region Östergötland

Region Östergötland is responsible for healthcare, dental care, public transport, and regional development in Östergötland.

The organization is politically governed and is the largest employer in the county with approximately 14,000 employees. The position is located in the unit for planned communication and media, which, together with the unit for digital communication, is the region's specialist function in communication.

Job Description

As a communications strategist, you have an important role in developing the communication operations in Region Östergötland. You will provide qualified communication support to management, leaders, and operations within healthcare and be responsible for communication related to major projects, activities, and changes.

You will make strategic assessments, analyze communication needs, formulate messages, and plan, implement, and follow up on communication efforts. You work long-term but can also deliver when time is tight and have the ability to work both strategically and operationally.

In the unit, we are also responsible for the function of communicator on standby, which we would like you to be a part of.

Education and Experience

You have a university degree in communication or equivalent.
You have experience leading and coaching others and have worked with communication both strategically and operationally.
Experience from the public sector and working with change communication in a larger organization is an advantage.
Experience in crisis communication is also an advantage.

You are strategic and have the ability to see the bigger picture, connections, and make trade-offs. You easily adapt to changing conditions and see opportunities in change. You will have many contacts with different operations within the region, so you need to be attentive and have a good ability to collaborate and build relationships. Being interested in people and having an interest in social issues is a prerequisite for you to thrive with us.

You are a good writer and are familiar with relevant tools and systems.
