Job Advertisement: Chef with Responsibility for Cleaning

The Sámi School Board is a government authority with its office located in Jåhkåmåhkke, including a school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators.

The Sámi school is an educational form equivalent to primary school, providing education from preschool to grade 6. The foundation for teaching is the Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for Sámi schools. The Sámi School Board also operates preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will plan and prepare meals for the preschool and be responsible for the cleaning of the unit's premises. You will work to create positive dining experiences with a focus on Sámi culture and tradition as well as sustainable development. In your work, you will continuously plan, document, evaluate, and ensure the quality of the operations, e.g., self-control according to HACCP. You will have great opportunities to influence your work by participating in the development of our operations. In the work team, you will reflect together with your colleagues on the operations, and collectively you will be responsible for driving and developing the work based on governing documents as well as common goals and guidelines within the Sámi School Board. Since a large part of the operations is conducted outdoors, you must be willing to spend time in nature, appreciate outdoor life, and manage outdoor cooking.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained and experienced chef with knowledge of cleaning. You have good knowledge of one of the Sámi languages and Sámi culture. As a chef and responsible for cleaning, you create dining experiences and provide service at the unit. You are confident in your professional role and have a good ability to meet and communicate with both children, colleagues, and parents. You have the ability to be independent, flexible, and responsible in your work. We will place great emphasis on collaboration skills and personal suitability. You have a qualification in the profession and experience working independently, being punctual, and providing good service when serving food.
