Your Responsibilities

The Department of Informatics and Technology (IIT) is in an expansive phase with a focus on both education and research. We want to give you the opportunity to contribute to both research and education. As a university lecturer with us, you are not just a teacher – you have the chance to influence the future of the IT industry through lectures and supervision for our students. Teaching is primarily conducted in the form of lectures, supervision, seminars, and examinations within educational programs in informatics with a main focus on program development.

You will be involved in undergraduate courses within the Data Economy program, Systems Science program, and Systems Architecture program with a focus on program development, which includes supervising thesis work at the bachelor level in informatics. The focus of the teaching is on system and program development with various programming languages and frameworks for different platforms. For example, you will teach programming languages such as C# and Python as well as frameworks such as .Net, DevOps, and Azure, both for desktop platforms and for web and mobile. Other possible subjects include software architecture, test automation, applied AI, and test-driven development.

In addition to teaching, you will contribute to developing courses and creating new course materials. By participating in pedagogical development and being part of the administrative work, you are helping to drive forward our common goal of educating and inspiring.

Your Qualifications

For the position of university lecturer, you are required to have:

• a master's degree or equivalent scientific competence in informatics or another relevant subject for the position's focus (e.g., computer science)
• demonstrated pedagogical skills
• experience in teaching program and system development, such as agile methods, test automation, software architecture, and test-driven development
• experience as a programmer or systems architect from the private sector
• documented knowledge of the .Net framework and programming language C#
• documented knowledge of database management, software architecture, and test automation
• good and documented knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious to have documented experience in:

• relevant professional experience in software development
• responsibility for course development work within undergraduate education
• DevOps
• collaboration with the private and/or public sector.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate within a teaching team.

A general eligibility requirement for permanent employment as a teacher is completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time studies, or equivalent competence. An employee who lacks higher education pedagogical training may, however, undergo the training during the first two years of employment.

Permanent employment, full-time or according to agreement on another scope. A six-month probationary period may apply. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Place of employment Borås.
