Your Responsibilities

The Department of Informatics and Technology (IIT) is in an expansive phase focusing on both education and research. We offer several educational programs, and this position has a teaching orientation. In addition, we run several research projects involving both senior and junior researchers.

You will primarily teach through lectures, supervision, seminars, and examinations in informatics with a focus on software development. Your responsibilities include participating in pedagogical development, developing courses, creating course materials, and some other administrative tasks. Teaching includes courses at the undergraduate level within the Data Economy program, the System Science program, and the System Architecture program with a focus on program development. This also includes supervising thesis work at the undergraduate level in informatics.

You will provide our students with knowledge in system and program development using various programming languages and frameworks for different platforms, such as C# and Python, as well as frameworks like .Net, DevOps, and Azure. Other possible teaching subjects include software architecture, artificial intelligence (AI), test automation, and test-driven development.

Your Qualifications

The following qualifications are required for the position:

  • Master's degree or equivalent scientific competence in informatics or another relevant subject for the position's focus (e.g., computer science)
  • Demonstrated pedagogical skills
  • Experience in teaching program and system development
  • Documented knowledge of the .Net framework and the C# programming language
  • Documented knowledge in database management
  • Documented knowledge in application development for web and/or mobile
  • Good and documented knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious to have documented experience in:

  • Relevant professional experience in software development
  • Responsibility for course development work in undergraduate education
  • Applied artificial intelligence
  • DevOps
  • Collaboration with the private and/or public sector.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and the ability to collaborate within a teaching team.

A general eligibility requirement for a permanent position as a teacher is completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 10 weeks of full-time studies, or equivalent competence. An employee who lacks higher education pedagogical training can complete the training during the first two years of employment.

Your Employment

Permanent employment, full-time or according to agreement on other extent. A six-month probationary period may be applied. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement. Place of employment Borås.
