About the workplace

We are a two-parallel school with currently about 310 students in grades F-6, and the upper secondary school is gradually being expanded starting from the autumn of 2025.

The school is located near Edsviken and Ulriksdal Palace Park, which means we have nature right at our doorstep but are also only 12 minutes by subway to central Stockholm. At Bergshamraskolan, we actively work with structures and methods aimed at creating participation in the school. We are the school "in the middle of the village" where we work together with colleagues in a pleasant environment close to swimming, nature, and sports facilities. We also have easy access to both bus and subway.

With us, you will work alongside engaged and knowledgeable colleagues who prioritize the students' best interests in our daily work. Together with the students, we have developed the core values of Safety, Knowledge, and Community, which form the foundation of our daily work at the school.

What does the job entail?

The position involves mentorship in a grade 4 and teaching in two classes where you and the other mentor in the grade complement each other in your subject qualifications. In our school development, we have focused for several years on accessible learning and see that collaboration is the key to shared learning and improved student results. Moving forward, we aim to work even more preventively and promote safety while we also need to develop the digital competence of our students.

You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching both independently and in collaboration with the teaching team. Additionally, you ensure that you plan, organize, and prioritize the work effectively to ensure that all processes are carried out with high quality.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a certified teacher for grades 4-6 with broad qualifications to teach MA/SV/ENG/SO
  • has experience working as a teacher
  • is well versed in all parts of the curriculum and other relevant governing documents
  • is familiar with digital tools that you use creatively in teaching as well as for your own planning, follow-up, and documentation
  • has experience working with student documentation such as pedagogical investigations and IUP
  • master the Swedish language in speech and writing.

As a person, you are attentive to the needs of students, clear, respectful, and have a strong ability to collaborate with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have a good ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively. You are interested in driving the school's and students' development forward, you can capture students' attention and create participation and motivation in various activities. You are a secure person with good pedagogical insight who can lead groups and individuals.
