We are now looking for a system developer to strengthen our search team in the information and archiving unit. Here you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain the search platform and search functions on websites. An exciting journey is underway where we focus on search solutions built with Lucene-based search platforms such as Elasticsearch.

Your Mission

The search platform and search services need to be modernized, and migration work has begun in both backend and frontend. The newer search services are developed with React in the frontend and Java Springboot in the backend. Therefore, you need to have solid experience with modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries, Headless CMS/DXP, and Java Springboot. Good competence in search solutions will also help you succeed in the mission.

You will apply requirements and feedback from users, both external and internal, and ensure that these are used as a starting point for development work. You will participate in testing and demos before deliveries and also provide support.

To Succeed in the Role, You Need:

• Relevant academic education in the IT field or equivalent competence deemed equivalent for the position.
• Experience in application development.
• Experience working with code management and code review.
• Experience working agile.
• Experience developing in Java as well as experience as a front-end developer (HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript).
• Experience developing search solutions.
• Experience with search platforms based on Lucene search software, such as Elasticsearch.
• Extensive experience required with the JavaScript library/framework React (ReactJS).
• Good ability to collaborate with other IT performers and other teams, as well as communicate complex search functions.
• Very good understanding and ability to convert user and customer requirements into technical solutions.
• Very good ability to document, present, and follow up, as well as command Swedish in speech and writing.

We Consider It a Merit If You Have:

• Experience with search engines (Elasticsearch, Solr) and CMS tools (Optimizely).
• Experience with the Springboot framework and CI/CD pipelines.
• Competence in user design, UX, accessibility, and automated testing (Cypress, Cucumber & Gherkin).
• Experience with Kibana.
• Experience working within VGR.

We are looking for a person who is used to working customer-focused. You should be interested in improving and further developing the search engine with a focus on customer benefit. Suggesting and implementing improvements and more efficient working methods within search services and their search interfaces is included.

Meticulous, structured, and detail-oriented with good communication and collaboration skills. Good at listening, explaining, and sharing knowledge, as well as solution-oriented and self-driven. Action-oriented, persistent, and effective both independently and in a group.
