Development Engineer at Göteborg Energi

Do you want to play a key role in realizing the vision of a sustainable Gothenburg? We are currently looking for someone to step into the role of Development Engineer in the Strategy and Innovation department.

Your Task

As a Development Engineer, you play a key role in realizing the vision of a sustainable Gothenburg. You will work at the forefront to create the best conditions for Göteborg Energi's transition to an even more sustainable and data-driven energy system. You will contribute to the company's development initiatives and skills development with a focus on AI/Digitalization and its applications for the energy system and the company's operations. You will be able to lead and perform sub-tasks within data science - e.g., machine learning, optimization, and forecasting - often as part of agile teams or projects, but you will also work independently on individual assignments and analyses.

Your Team

The department consists of 8 people with different specialist competencies who work with environmental analysis and development to support the entire group. The work focuses on strategically important areas exploring new opportunities and new technologies, where digitalization/AI will be central to operations in the future. The work is usually cross-functional and in collaboration with the rest of the company, and you will have support and assistance from other departments in your work and personal development.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who is self-driven with a high ability to collaborate and a desire to contribute. You are also curious and creative and want to work towards set goals. Since we work with issues that can involve all different parts of the energy system and energy market, a holistic view and a strong commitment to development are needed!

You are a Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent with several years of experience in data science, programming, AI, and machine learning. You are familiar with agile working methods, fluent in Swedish and English (spoken and written), and have a basic understanding and strong interest in the function and transition of the Swedish energy system, as well as in research and development work. Experience from electricity network and/or electricity trading operations is an advantage.

Göteborg Energi is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and many of our services are security classified. If this position is security classified, a security clearance will be conducted before employment, in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
