Kustbevakningen is looking for a case officer in rescue services
Kustbevakningen is a civil governmental preparedness authority responsible for maritime surveillance and environmental rescue services at sea on behalf of the government and parliament. During preparedness for environmental rescue, we work preventively with environmental monitoring while promoting a sustainable marine environment. We also supervise and control fishing, customs, borders, hunting, and nature conservation at sea. Additionally, we work to increase safety through maritime traffic monitoring and maintain constant readiness for sea rescue. Around the clock, all year round, we are present along Sweden's coast, protecting lives and the environment, now and for the future.

Description
Kustbevakningen is looking for a case officer in rescue services for the Method Development Department, Unit for Rescue Services, located at Kustbevakningen's offices in Gothenburg or Stockholm.
The Method Development Department develops and regulates methods and approaches for Kustbevakningen. The department ensures that the authority optimally meets operational capability requirements and that the operational activities are supported by effective and safe methods.
The unit is responsible for developing methods and routines concerning rescue services, diving operations, and the community's crisis preparedness. Furthermore, the unit addresses development issues and environmental monitoring by participating in and coordinating rescue service matters within national and international agreements/organizations and participates in collaborative exercises and meetings. The unit evaluates the authority's rescue service efforts.
The unit provides methodological support for rescue services by producing governing documents and assists other operational resources in environmental rescue operations as well as during exercises and training. The unit's tasks include, among other things, the development of risk assessments, methodologies, and training materials, and the unit also works with follow-up and experience management.

Responsibilities
Your main tasks will be to optimize methods for Sea Life Rescue and Environmental Rescue Services.
Furthermore, as a case officer in rescue services, you will participate in method development and environmental monitoring within the area of rescue services and crisis preparedness. In the role of case officer in rescue services, it may occur that:
- You participate in analysis, planning, and follow-up of Kustbevakningen's activities in preparation for revisions of governing documents.
- You collaborate regionally, nationally, and internationally with other authorities and organizations, representing the unit in collaboration issues and project groups.
- You participate as a lecturer and instructor in internal and external training.
- You take part in planning and follow-up of training within the authority's areas of responsibility, focusing on environmental rescue services at sea as well as staff and management.
- You prepare decision-making materials for the department's management group and the authority's management.
- You participate in the staff during environmental rescue operations or crisis management during societal disturbances as needed.
Qualifications
You have a university degree with a relevant focus deemed appropriate for the position by the employer or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way.
Experience in maritime operations is an advantage. Likewise, work experience from the areas of environmental rescue services at sea, rescue services, and community crisis preparedness can be a good background for the position.
You are outgoing and can present cases and report in front of a group. You have good collaboration skills and can work in a team as well as solve assigned tasks independently. You are used to working with many different tasks and can shift focus from operational to analytical work.
You have good administrative skills and good knowledge of the Office suite. You also have a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.

Conditions
Permanent employment with a 6-month initial probationary period. Start date as soon as agreed.
The place of employment is Gothenburg or Stockholm.
For employment, Swedish citizenship, a driver's license with category B, a negative drug test, and a security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act are required.
Kustbevakningen participates in overseas missions and international operations. Therefore, the position includes an obligation to serve abroad when required for the operation.
In the case of permanent employment, there is also an obligation to be assigned to military service.
