A Job that Counts!
With us, you contribute to a well-functioning society for the public and businesses.
About the Job
As a bailiff, you will work within one or more of the Swedish Enforcement Authority's operational areas: summary process, enforcement, debt restructuring, and supervision in bankruptcy/reconstruction. You are responsible for the legal quality in case handling. Your work spans several areas of law, primarily insolvency law, enforcement law, and property law. Initially, you will work within the enforcement area.
- Within the summary process, you make qualified legal assessments in cases concerning payment orders, ordinary enforcement, and special enforcement.
- In enforcement, you are an integral part of the authority's exercise of power during intervention enforcement measures and are responsible for executive real estate and condominium sales.
- In debt restructuring, you investigate the conditions for debt restructuring in reconsideration and objection cases and make decisions in complex matters.
- In bankruptcy supervision, you monitor that the bankruptcy administration is conducted correctly and are available for the administrators when difficult questions arise. You also work with supervision over corporate reconstructors.
You also provide daily legal support to other employees, conduct training, perform legal investigations, make decisions, respond to consultations, and write opinions for courts. The role also includes representing the authority in various contexts and answering questions from the public and parties.
Everyone working at the Swedish Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities about suspected crimes. As a bailiff/bailiff trainee, you can, for example, counteract various types of crime by providing legal support to enforcement inspectors and case handlers. This can result in you helping to prevent welfare crimes.
You will undergo internal training for about a year. In the training, you will alternate between theory and practice and apply the law within our various operations. There is both opportunity and expectation to work over time in the different operational departments.
About You
As an employee at the Swedish Enforcement Authority, you are expected to live up to our employee policy (https://www.kronofogden.se/jobba-hos-oss/medarbetarpolicy). You take initiative, are engaged, and take responsibility for achieving goals. You contribute to the development of the organization and help your colleagues succeed. You treat others with respect, kindness, and actively listen to others while showing a positive attitude.
You are a skilled lawyer with the ability to translate your legal expertise into practical operations. You can collaborate and communicate in a pedagogical manner, both verbally and in writing. You are stable and trustworthy when meeting people in vulnerable situations. You work results-oriented, show decisiveness, and focus on what needs to be achieved. You have an analytical ability that allows you to see connections and find the most effective solution. You adapt easily to new areas of law and adjust according to the circumstances and changes that occur.
Your Qualifications:
- completed notary service or will complete your notary service within the next six months
- Swedish citizenship.
It is desirable that you have a certificate from your notary service that describes the assessment: very good or higher in the overall assessment. It is also desirable that you have two years of current work experience in qualified legal work from a law firm, court (after notary service), or authority in a decision-making role.
About Us
The Swedish Enforcement Authority is a government agency with an important mission. We work closely with people in vulnerable situations. We help those who have not been paid and guide those who need to pay. We provide citizens and businesses with information and good service so they can make long-term and sustainable decisions. This requires knowledge, decisiveness, care, and courage. We contribute to a well-functioning society for the public and businesses – a society where debts and other claims are established and collected in a legally secure manner.
With us, you can expect challenging tasks that are also developing for you. When you leave work at the end of the day, you can be sure that you have done something that truly counts – both for others and for yourself.
Good to Know
You will start your employment as a bailiff trainee, and after completing the training, you will receive the title of bailiff. The employment is permanent and begins with a six-month probationary period. The Swedish Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer. This position requires Swedish citizenship.
Working in the government means that you follow the government values. There are also special requirements for judgment, security thinking, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also asked to referees. We also collect information about debts registered with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business prohibitions. The information obtained will be considered in the overall assessment of your suitability for the current position.
Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment.
