Summer Internship as an Accounting Assistant at a Government Agency

Are you studying economics and want to gain practical experience this summer? Take the opportunity to work as an accounting assistant at a government agency and apply your knowledge in practice. ABOUT THE POSITION

As an accounting assistant at a government agency, you will play an important role in the daily work of financial administration. You will be part of a team that works to ensure that the agency's financial processes are handled correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Your tasks will include managing accounts payable, reviewing and coding invoices, performing reconciliations, administering travel expenses, and providing support during the year-end closing process. You will also have contact with both internal staff and external parties, which requires good service skills and a professional demeanor.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with accountants and other colleagues within the agency, and you will gain a good insight into how financial functions operate in the public sector. You will work in financial systems and other administrative tools, where accuracy and structure are crucial for the work to be correct and smooth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with accounting and bookkeeping
  • Work in financial systems
  • Invoice control, preparatory documentation for data processing, and account balance reconciliation
  • Work with accounts payable and receivable
  • Respond to inquiries about payments and receipts

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Has at least a completed high school diploma in economics
  • Is currently pursuing higher education in economics
  • Has good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
  • Has good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, as required in daily work with colleagues
