Our Operations

The Security and Preparedness function at the Swedish Medical Products Agency deals with issues related to the agency's security protection, signal protection, personal security, information security, crisis preparedness, and total defense. We are currently in an exciting development phase and are looking for someone who wants to influence and drive change and development work.

Your Responsibilities

As a Security and Preparedness Strategist, focusing on information security, you will work risk-based, systematically, and long-term with the development, support, follow-up, and coordination of the agency's information security work. You are also expected to support the organization with risk analyses and information classification. You will also work on handling information security incidents and support the organization in other types of incidents. Since the information security work is integrated with the function's other security work, you may also perform other tasks within the function's area of responsibility.

You will practically support the agency's various operations with your expertise. You report to the director of the Security and Preparedness function, who is also the agency's security protection manager.

Since the Security and Preparedness function is in a development phase, you must enjoy switching between strategic and operational tasks. Much of the work is done in close cooperation both internally and externally, requiring you to easily create lasting relationships and support the organization in finding alternative solutions if problems arise. The work also involves conducting training initiatives for both small and large groups.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree and several years of experience working with information security. You have good skills and experience in organizing information security work. You have a very good analytical ability and can easily understand new regulations and standards. You have good knowledge of the legislation and standards that govern information security work, such as MSB's regulations, ISO 27001 and ISO 27002, the General Data Protection Regulation, the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act, and the upcoming Cybersecurity Act.

You have experience in conducting information classifications and leading risk analyses as well as handling information security incidents.

You have a good ability to express yourself well, in both Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have experience from:

• Work from a preparedness authority
• Work at a higher strategic level
• Preparing government matters
• Work with security protection, especially in the area of information security.

Your Personal Qualities

You are analytical, ambitious, and want to quickly achieve good results in your work. You have the ability and drive to independently find solutions for improvements and development within your work area. You can collaborate with many different competencies throughout the organization and have a structured working method. You are comfortable speaking and presenting in front of groups.

As you are unpretentious, you find it easy to collaborate in a professional and pleasant manner, and you also have the ability to explain and anchor complex contexts, both in writing and orally. The ability to quickly switch between planned and event-driven activities is a prerequisite for success in the job.

Security clearance with background check is conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) before a decision on employment is made. In some cases, Swedish citizenship is required. All permanently employed staff at the Swedish Medical Products Agency are placed in wartime within the agency.
