Sydarkivera is looking for summer interns in analog archives!

We are looking for archive students as we want to give students the chance to gain experience working with archives.

We do not require any prior knowledge or practical experience in archive work.

A strong interest in archives and general knowledge of terms and concepts within the field is, however, an advantage.

It is also advantageous if you have experience searching in archive inventories such as Visual Archive or similar.

We need 1 – 3 people, and the work will initially be under the supervision of an archivist, gradually becoming more independent.

The tasks mainly consist of archive work such as

• Handling requests for public documents
• Inventorying and organizing archives

There may be heavy lifting involved.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is at least 20 years old, has completed high school, and is studying archive and information science or equivalent.

It is good if you have experience in archive work, but it is not a requirement.

As a person, you are meticulous, have a good sense of order, and take great responsibility for your tasks.

You are quick to learn.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

You are an independent and interested employee who can both structure your own work and collaborate well with others.

You need to have a driver's license as you will need to travel to our archives in different locations.

Scope

Up to full-time for 8 – 16 weeks during the summer, with a planned start in May/June, or by agreement.

Location

You will be based at our archive in Bräkne-Hoby, but travel to Torsås or Karlskrona (Region Blekinge) is likely to occur.
