The Gothenburg Primary School Administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool class to grade nine, adapted primary school, culture school, and after-school centers. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who work together to develop and take care of the operation - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Would you like to work as a teacher in an after-school center at a school with 45 students in Gothenburg's southern archipelago? You are warmly welcome to apply!

We are a school with dedicated educators who all work to provide all children and young people with safety, joy in work, good knowledge, and skills for further studies. You are not alone in the complex task that the teaching job entails; you have good support from colleagues, special educators, management, and student health teams.

Your main task is to ensure that the operation is conducted according to the curriculum together with the other staff at the after-school center. At the after-school center, you are responsible for ensuring that the education is varied in both guided and free activities, as well as that different materials and learning environments are offered and used to stimulate students' desire to play and learn. You contribute to promoting students' social development while practically working to help students achieve knowledge goals. As a teacher in the after-school center with us, you collaborate with guardians, work teams, and other school staff as well as student health. You will also be involved in developing cooperation with other schools in the archipelago.

Brännö School is a school with about 45 students located in beautiful surroundings. It is a school in the village where students attend preschool class up to grade 3. Our outdoor environment allows for variation in teaching where we can reach students in different ways. We work to ensure that it is a school for everyone where we create a safe and stimulating environment.

In our school area, we have four schools that work together for the best interests of the students; Asperö School, Brännö School, Donsö School, and Styrsö School. We work together for good collegial exchange and increased quality. Once a week, students travel to Styrsö School for craft lessons. Cooperation between schools is important so that students feel comfortable switching environments and getting to know the staff. Since the school year 23/24, we have been working with the school model PALS in the southern archipelago schools.

Our goal is to shape schools and after-school centers based on the conditions of small-scale operations that give children the best opportunities to take on the world!

QUALIFICATIONS

Formal Competencies:

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher for after-school centers. It is meritorious if you have a focus on sports, music, or art.

  • Flexible: In these small units, we work closely together, and you find it easy to adapt your working methods based on changed conditions and new information. You can quickly change your perspective and approach and see opportunities in changes.
  • Respectful: You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You base your actions on everyone's equal value and create a good atmosphere in meetings. You have an open and positive attitude as you base your actions on the needs of the user/customer.

The introduction provides you as a newly graduated teacher with a network with other newly graduated teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.
