City Executive Office
The City Executive Office in Gothenburg is the administration of the City Council and the Municipal Assembly. The office's mission is to support the City Council in leading, coordinating, and monitoring the operations, economy, and other strategic planning of the City of Gothenburg.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The City of Gothenburg welcomes visitors from around the world every year. These visits aim to promote mutual exchange of experiences, profile Gothenburg, contribute to operational development, or otherwise enrich the city. The Municipal Assembly is responsible for visits of a representative nature. The City Council is responsible for visits with a clear political content.
The position is located in the Office Management area, and the department for operational services and representation. The area is responsible for the internal support and management processes of the City Executive Office. The department is responsible for planning and executing representation for the city's municipal leadership as well as managing the rental of the city's representation venues in Börsen. It is a small team that works closely together, and when needed, everyone helps with the operational parts of the business. Work may sometimes be scheduled outside regular office hours.
This position includes responsibility for receiving and preparing requests for external and international exchanges of experiences, collaborations, etc., and directing relevant inquiries to the departments or companies involved, providing support to the Municipal Assembly and City Council in external relations as requested, and supporting the office regarding tasks involving external relations. The work includes participating in the official representation of the Municipal Assembly.
The position also involves working on how the office presents itself and disseminates information internally and externally. Internally within the office through meeting platforms, the intranet, and other information channels. Externally through the office's pages on goteborg.se. The assignment is carried out in collaboration with area management and employees throughout the office.
The department collaborates closely with several departments within the City Executive Office, administrations, and companies within the city, but also with external partners and networks such as the Västra Götaland Region, the County Administrative Board, and Göteborg & Co.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have an academic degree with a relevant focus. You have several years of experience working with external relations, preferably as a project manager or analyst at a strategic level. We also prefer that you have experience working in a politically governed organization. You have experience working with internal and external communication and presentation and are skilled at conveying messages in both text and image.
To succeed in this assignment at the City Executive Office, we see that you need to have good analytical skills with a holistic view and express yourself pedagogically in both speech and writing. You have a good ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as being able to take responsibility for your assignments. This also means that you need to be able to plan and organize your work. The assignment requires good collaboration skills as you will work in cooperation with others both internally and externally.
You should also be able to communicate in English, both spoken and written.
