Who am I?

I am a 38-year-old girl living in Varberg. Due to my autism and chromosomal condition, I need personal assistance. I have difficulties understanding or using traditional communication methods. Being understood and acknowledged is fundamental to my safety, community, and sense of belonging. Therefore, it is very important that you are genuinely interested in learning my "language" - both verbal and my other forms of expression.

I enjoy listening when someone reads to me, going for long walks (I sit in a wheelchair, and we go at my pace to where I want to go), and talking with my assistant. Creative expression is also important to me; I like to see others draw and paint and would love to find motivation and inspiration to try it myself! Additionally, I enjoy outings, such as visiting the stable to see the horses (so it’s important that you are not allergic to furry animals) and going to my favorite places Åkulla and Öströö.

Outdoors, I use a manual wheelchair with a helper motor. I can walk short distances with physical support from my assistant. I need help with food and personal hygiene.

Who are you?

I am looking for someone who is calm and patient, but also creative and humorous. You should have a playful attitude towards life and dare to express yourself in creative work. You don’t have to "know" how, but you should have a strong interest in exploring new ways to think and express ourselves!

You need to have a driver's license since we will be driving together. You must be able to speak fluent Swedish, both orally and in writing, so we can communicate. I do not want you to smoke or use perfume while working.

What can a work shift look like?

In the beginning, our focus will be on getting to know each other and having a relaxed day together without demands. We will build a safe and trusting relationship.

A day might look like this: We start with a cozy reading session, then we eat. After that, we might take a walk if the weather allows, otherwise, we will go on an outing to one of my favorite places. Once home, we will have a snack and finish with some reading, drawing, or playing. I feel good when a work shift follows a safe and familiar routine.

Scope/Setup:

Work scope: 50%
Working hours: Monday to Wednesday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and 1 Sunday a month 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

The position starts on May 1st. Passal Assistans offers a rewarding and varied job with good employment conditions, training, and wellness benefits.
