The City Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility. We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work in the administration.

The City Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Together, we work to create the conditions for a functioning infrastructure, quality housing and facilities, an inviting public environment, and strive for the city to be sustainable from all perspectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now seeking a development leader for the Customer and Case Management unit, focusing on committee, customer case, and local issues. The focus of the position may change over time based on the needs of the unit, department, and administration. Until summer 2026, much of the focus in the role will be on local issues.

In the committee process, your role as a development leader is to support the managers and case handlers in the organization in the preparation and quality assurance of investigations and decision-making materials for decision-making in the committee and by delegation. You will work closely with other employees in the unit on issues and processes related to decision-making in the committee and by delegation. You will conduct investigations as needed and coordinate and lead training initiatives. The role includes attending committee meetings when necessary.

In customer case matters, your task is to participate in the development of improving and streamlining customer case management in the administration.

In local issues; you will, at the request and in dialogue with the head of Development and Governance, support them in their role as project owner for the ongoing project to consolidate the city's Urban Development administrations into new shared premises. In collaboration with representatives from the project, the administration, and cooperating administrations, you will contribute to the development of common working methods, service solutions, and other property- and location-related issues that need to be addressed before co-location in new premises. You will also be the administration's contact person for the aforementioned local project and for our new premises at Traktören.

In the role of Development Leader, you will work independently as well as in collaboration with managers and key functions. You will handle information, draft documents, prepare and lead meetings, and communicate with the organization internally, with the project organization, and with cooperating administrations in a simple and correct manner.

The Customer and Case Management unit is organizationally placed under the Development and Governance department, one of the administration's central support departments. The unit is responsible for information management, case management, committee administration, delegation, and customer case management. Currently, 14 employees work in the unit in roles such as business developers, development leaders, committee secretaries, case controllers, and archivists.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in Political Science with a focus on public administration, preferably from the School of Public Administration. To succeed in your role, you need to have a good understanding of municipal administration, political governance, and public law, as well as good knowledge of meeting techniques, meeting formalities, and the legal framework governing the work and decision-making of a municipal committee. You should have good knowledge of and experience with the implications of decision-making by delegation and its conditions.

Since the position involves independent investigative work, you should have experience in investigations within public operations. The position also requires experience in case registration and meeting management in case management systems, such as Platina, Ciceron, etc., as well as good knowledge of the Office suite. Experience in case registration and meeting management in the Ciceron case management system is considered an asset.

Experience in independently planning and leading work and processes within local supply, local management, service functions (facility management), and customer processes. If you have experience leading others, managing projects, and change work within state or municipal administration, it is considered a strong asset.

As a person, you have integrity, good judgment, and a high level of security awareness. Being flexible and able to prioritize is important for thriving in the role, alongside the ability to structure and work goal-oriented. You have the ability to take initiative and work independently but must enjoy working collaboratively with others and being co-creative. Since the position largely involves a consultative role, you must find it easy to build relationships, enjoy speaking in front of others, give clear instructions, and like to be a problem solver.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For the next two years, our workplace at Köpmansgatan 20 will be renovated, where all urban development administrations will be gathered. The new premises are expected to be completed in 2026. During the renovation period, we have workplaces at Postgatan and Lillhagsparken according to a rotating schedule. This means a few months at Postgatan and a few months at Lillhagsparken, applicable to most of the administration's services.
