Special Educator at Mariestad Municipality

Mariestad Municipality has a clear goal to identify students' needs earlier and provide the right support in time. Therefore, they have decided to invest in access to special educators within child and student health.

We are now looking for a special educator for a longer temporary position within preschool who will work preventively and health-promoting with a focus on quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special educator with us, you are employed within child and student health and work on behalf of the principal. You are part of the promotional and preventive work for children in preschool activities and have close collaboration with the principal, teachers, and other staff within child and student health.

Together, you work to provide all students with the best possible conditions for learning and development.

Your main responsibilities include:

• operational support in the form of consultation and guidance to educators.
• teamwork around children in need of support and preschool-related investigation assignments at organizational, group, and individual levels.

The work is varied and will involve many contacts both internally and externally, such as guardians and partners within primary care, social services, and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP).

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained special educator.

You have a good ability to work both organizationally and with individual children and groups. You enjoy working together with others and act selflessly in such contexts. It is important that you have the ability to create engagement, trust, and participation.

As a person, you are present, attentive, clear, and organized, as well as well acquainted with the school's governing documents. You find it easy to build good relationships and are a qualified conversation partner in educational matters, with children, guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders. You see opportunities in changes and have a positive and accommodating attitude while taking great responsibility for your tasks.

You use proven experience and research to analyze and evaluate results as a basis for improvement work at various levels; children's and students' learning, teaching practice, as well as organization and routines.

As a special educator, you should have good linguistic and written skills, as well as experience and knowledge of systematic quality work. Furthermore, you are accustomed to digital tools and compensatory aids in teaching.

A driver's license and access to your own car are required for the position.
