Mimers Hus Gymnasium was inaugurated in 2004 and is an attractive high school located in central Kungälv with branches for the Construction and Civil Engineering Program and the Vehicle and Transport Program/Transport Orientation in the Rollsbo industrial area.

Currently, about 1600 students are enrolled in thirteen national programs, both vocational and academic preparatory as well as introductory programs. The school employs approximately 180 staff members characterized by great commitment and high competence. Our goal and focus is that everyone should succeed. The school offers, among other things, a sports profile within all programs and UF in several.

The Construction and Civil Engineering Program has a specialization in Building Construction, and students graduate in year 2 as Apprentices. The program annually graduates 35 students. We have a very good collaboration with the business community, and students generally find work after their 3 years with us.

Job Responsibilities

Due to upcoming study leave, we are now looking for a substitute teacher. Before the start of the autumn term, we need a vocational teacher for the Construction and Civil Engineering Program with a specialization in Building Construction at Mimers Hus. The role includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching in the above program. You are expected to eventually be able to teach all vocational courses we have within the program. In your teaching role, you create a safe and developing learning environment with your engagement and curiosity. You have a clear but attentive leadership in the classroom and create a learning situation based on the students' individual learning conditions through relationships and dialogue. You vary your teaching, work formatively, and set clear and concrete goals to make students' learning visible.

The role also includes mentorship responsibility for a group of students, and you are responsible for their school situation based on this mentorship. You will conduct development talks, collaborate internally and externally, and maintain a coaching approach.

As a colleague in the program's work team, you are active and involved in the joint work around the students. As a participant in the work team, you initiate and drive, together with your team, issues related to the development of the program's structures and teaching and see the collegial work as a way to develop work in and outside the classroom to create the best possible learning situation for our students.

Qualifications

In addition to solid experience in the construction industry, we prefer that you have a teaching license. If not, there is an opportunity to work while you complete a teaching degree in the long term. This is therefore a great opportunity for you who have considered working as a vocational teacher in your profession.

You have the ability to create good relationships with both students, guardians, external partners, and colleagues.

You have the ability to meet students in complicated learning situations and have a clear leadership in the classroom. Additionally, you can work with your colleagues on adaptations and alternative learning tools to focus on students' strengths and build on them. Previous experience mentoring APL students is an advantage.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities, organizational skills, and good collaboration skills with students and in the program work team.

It is also advantageous if you have a B driver's license. The appointment of the position is subject to the condition that the employee is accepted into their studies.
