Job Responsibilities

Are you an engaged and qualified primary school teacher who wants to help shape the global citizens of the future? At Klagshamn School, we are looking for a new colleague for our after-school program. We offer a stimulating work environment where you can contribute to the school's learning and development. As a primary school teacher in the after-school program, you will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing in the after-school setting.

You will create a stimulating educational environment based on the school's vision, curriculum, and governing documents. You will promote students' development and learning by finding strategies to reach each student and strengthen their knowledge and personal development. You will provide students with meaningful leisure time, promote social community, and strengthen group relationships. During school hours, you will collaborate with other staff to complement the teaching. Teaching in one or more subjects may be included depending on your subject qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Teaching degree and certification with qualifications to teach in after-school programs or a degree in leisure pedagogy and certification for teaching in after-school programs.
  • Experience working as a primary school teacher in after-school programs or leisure pedagogue. It is advantageous if you have qualifications and experience in teaching sports.
  • Good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to apply this knowledge in daily work.
  • Knowledge in didactics and pedagogy. You can lead and organize work to create a conducive learning environment throughout the day.
  • Ability to develop your work based on evidence-based research in collaboration with other primary teachers, teaching assistants, and teachers in the work team.

About the Workplace

At Klagshamn School, students from preschool to grade 9 attend. We have two school buildings: Klagshamn Building for preschool and grade 1, and Strand Building for grades 2 to 9. We also have after-school activities for grades 4 to 6 in the Folkets Hus premises. The school has approximately 800 students and nearly 90 staff members. The management team consists of a principal, two vice principals, and an administrative manager/vice principal. This year's development work focuses on "Desire to Learn," an initiative we have identified together within the entire school. To create quality and equity, we allocate common time for joint planning and co-assessment within the work teams. We are a school filled with joy and a stable staff that supports each other.
