The Workplace

Skegrie is growing, and therefore we need more employees. This autumn, the new premises for grades 7-9 will be ready, and we will move in. The sports hall is in close proximity to the school and was completed in 2019. In the Skegrie principal area, we are close to each other. We work together in common networks, activities, and educational initiatives between and within our various operations. With us, we have the opportunity to follow children from preschool to high school in a 1-16 year perspective.

Skegrie School is a school where all students and staff come to learn for life and develop to their full potential. The school works with inclusive learning environments and ensures that all students are met based on their own conditions with a focus on knowledge.

Knowledge – Community - Joy - are guiding principles that permeate teaching in all departments and grades in RO Skegrie.

Our preschool children receive education on sustainability issues in collaboration with Green Flag, and at the school, movement is an important part of all teaching. The school is a member of both Pep and the movement initiative. Our principal area offers meals close to children and students as all our units have their own kitchens.

Skegrie School is a K-9 school with an attached after-school program. We actively work to be a school of the times, and the school's students learn in many different ways, both digitally and with pen and paper, and learning occurs in interaction. The school actively works with social interaction and has organized break activities every school day. We believe in good communication between school and home and regularly inform guardians about teaching and activities at the school. Approximately 450 students aged 6 to 15 attend the school, and of these, over 200 have after-school placements.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher at Skegrie School, you will work as part of a team for grades 7-9, where you will plan, implement, follow up, and analyze together with your closest colleagues. We take joint responsibility for students' knowledge development and social development. Your position includes mentoring responsibilities. We work on the continuous development of our operations. Our prioritized areas are language development, grades, and assessment. We have close cooperation with guardians regarding students' learning and development.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher with qualifications to teach Physical Education and English for grades 7-9. It is advantageous if you also have several years of experience working in schools.

To thrive as a teacher, you need to have an interest in pedagogy, be development-oriented, positive, and have good communication skills as well as the ability to see the whole picture. You enjoy working in an environment that places high demands on responsibility, flexibility, decisiveness, and social competence.

You meet children and parents in a respectful manner. You collaborate with your colleagues at the school to develop a meaningful and stimulating operation together. Through your experience, you are creative and develop a good learning environment for the students. You inspire and engage the students while setting high expectations for them and believing that they can meet your expectations.
