Job Responsibilities

We are currently seeking two primary school teachers for leisure activities at Mellanhedsskolan. You will be part of one of our teams at the leisure center for grades F-3 and become a part of a wonderful group striving for the best school for every student!

At Mellanhedsskolan, you will have the opportunity to lead your department in exciting development through current processes, linked to the school's commitments with the support of the first teachers within the organization. The operations will be led by a manager responsible for the entire school's leisure activities, F-6, whose background and experience primarily come from leisure centers. The leadership is characterized by great responsibility and trust. As a primary school teacher in leisure activities with us, you will plan and conduct teaching and assess students in our leisure center. Based on the curriculum and governing documents, we will together create a safe environment in the leisure center aimed at strengthening our students in both their knowledge development and personal growth while providing them with a meaningful leisure time. In the leisure center, we also strive to promote diverse contacts, social community, and strengthen group relationships. While our students are in school, you will collaborate with our school staff. Mellanhedsskolan also aims to improve the quality of breaks and sees the assignment to develop these as a natural part of the role of a primary school teacher in leisure activities with us.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed teacher in leisure activities. It is an advantage if you have previous experience in the profession. You should have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents, legislation, and be able to apply them in daily work. We expect you to recognize the strengths of the student/group and want to help the student/group develop and reach as far as possible based on their conditions. Furthermore, you have a good didactic and pedagogical ability that enables you to independently lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment for our students throughout the day. If you have previous experience and engagement in the role of break supervisor, it is considered an advantage. Your teaching is modern and based on evidence-based research, developing your work, and with good knowledge and experience, you work effectively with relevant digital tools.

We place great importance on personal suitability and that you have worked in the leisure center's operations in recent years. It is essential that you master Swedish in both spoken and written form to support our students.

About the Workplace

Mellanhedsskolan currently has operations for students from preschool class to grade 9, as well as adapted primary school for grades 1-9. Approximately 1100 students attend the school. The school is gradually expanding to become a full-scale F-9 school for the school year 2024/2025. In the autumn of 2022, Mellanhedsskolan took over the premises that were previously Slottstadens school. This means that Mellanhedsskolan operates on two school units. Mellanheden 1 has operations for grades F-3 while Mellanheden 2 (formerly Slottstadens school) has operations for grades 4-9. Students and adults are organized into teams. Class teachers, leisure teachers, and student assistants work together. This enables a holistic view of children's development and early identification of children in need of special support.
