University Lecturer in Business Intelligence

The Faculty of Economics conducts research and education in working life, economics, and design.

Our programs make students employable, and they come into contact with the business community during their studies. Within the Department of Business Administration, there is a Bachelor's program with a focus on Accounting and Auditing, Banking and Finance, International Marketing, and Business Intelligence, as well as several standalone courses. We offer a Master's program in Accounting and Auditing for sustainable business and Marketing for sustainable business. Our research is conducted by individual researchers as well as within the research environment GRIP, an interdisciplinary research environment with members from both economics and working life, and within the newly established research environment “Frontiers in Marketing.” The faculty also includes the research environment DARC, with members primarily based in digital design.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities include teaching, supervision, and examination within the Bachelor's program, primarily in the Business Intelligence (BI) focus, but also in standalone courses. The majority of courses in the BI focus of the Bachelor's program are offered online, but also include elements of campus-based teaching and examination. Other focuses in the Bachelor's program are campus-based. The university has a mission to collaborate with the surrounding community, which you are expected to contribute to. The responsibilities also include participating in the development of the subject area and being responsible for courses and course development.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of university lecturer, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Business Intelligence or equivalent. If you have a Master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Business Intelligence or equivalent, we consider it an advantage.

We are looking for someone who meets the following essential requirements for the position:

• Work experience in Business Intelligence, e.g., as a BI analyst, data analyst, controller (with database experience), or equivalent role.
• Understanding of ETL processes, data governance, and data modeling.
• Practical experience with BI reporting, dashboards, and data visualization.
• Technical competence in SQL, Power BI (including DAX), and MS Office.
• Ability to teach in both Swedish and English.

If you also meet any of the following, we consider it an advantage:

• Experience teaching Business Intelligence at a university/college, both on campus and online.
• Experience with or knowledge of Big Data, cloud computing, IT security, AI, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
• Experience working with business systems (e.g., SAP).
• Experience collaborating with the surrounding community.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or other relevant languages for data analysis.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. We are looking for someone who can work independently, flexibly, and in a structured manner while also appreciating and contributing to good collaboration. You can work well with others, listen, be receptive to the other party, and adapt to the situation. Furthermore, you are clear, meticulous, and well aware of goals and quality standards. You must have numerical analytical skills and the ability to communicate them.

Kristianstad University places great importance on the pedagogical skills of our employed teachers. Upon hiring, you are expected to have completed a higher education pedagogical training of at least 15 higher education credits or present equivalent knowledge; alternatively, it will be included in your professional development plan that such training is completed within the first two years of employment.

Other

The position is a permanent employment at 100% or by agreement. Start date by agreement, and we usually apply a probationary period. The placement is in Kristianstad at Näsby with good bus connections and parking facilities. Some teaching may be scheduled for evenings or weekends and also at locations other than Kristianstad.
