VMware Technician at Svenska kraftnät

Svenska kraftnät is a key player in the energy transition. Our IT division is growing to enable a doubled electricity production and a fossil-free future. With the latest technology, we are increasing both the capacity of the infrastructure and the pace of development in digitalization and processes. We are looking for someone with a high security awareness, who is interested in influencing technical choices and who wants to contribute their VMware expertise to critical IT infrastructure.

About the position
Svenska kraftnät has a very large and complex IT environment with full control over the operation and development of all layers of the infrastructure. As a VMware technician, you will work with the operation, management, and development of the virtualized server platform that is the basis for many of our critical IT environments.

You will also:

• Participate in projects where you contribute your area of expertise
• Monitor developments in the unit's technical areas
• Work on security-enhancing measures
• Conduct proactive improvement work within your area of responsibility and in collaboration with other departments

You will be part of the Secure Network Infrastructure unit. All colleagues are highly engaged in developing robust long-term solutions to ensure the IT systems that underpin the future electricity supply. The team works and understands the technology in depth, is very responsible, and always considers the whole environment.

About you
We are looking for someone who is motivated by sharing knowledge with others and sees the benefit of creating good collaborations. We value that you have a good demeanor and the ability to solve problems together with others. You are analytical and thrive with complex issues that have a high security component. You take responsibility, structure, and deliver according to plan.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

You have a degree in computer science/IT or have equivalent competence acquired in another way. You also have:

• At least 15 years of current and relevant experience in virtualized environments and work within IT infrastructure
• Worked with VMware platforms for the last 5 years
• Extensive experience in critical IT organizations
• Experience in operation and management of VMware products (vCenter, ESXi, NSX, Aria Suite, Aria Operations for Networks)
• Experience with Netapp or similar storage solutions
• Experience in hardware management
• Experience or training in ITIL
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Driving license B

We consider it a merit if you have:

• Experience in a team lead role
• Experience as a data center technician
