As a committee secretary, you belong to the secretariat unit, which is part of the municipal executive administration. The unit serves the municipality's administrations and committees with record-keeping, committee administration, archive issues, information security, and support in legal matters. The secretariat unit is also responsible for coordinating the municipality's work with general elections. Within the unit, in addition to committee secretaries, there are also municipal secretaries, archivists, administrators, and the head of the secretariat.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of committee secretary, you will be the secretary for three municipal committees, where you are responsible for all steps of the case process. You provide qualified knowledge support to elected officials and administrators in committee administration and administrative law matters. Together with the other staff in the secretariat, you participate in the handling of public documents. You are also the secretary for the election committee and have a key role as the election coordinator in planning and executing general elections. Some handling of cases prior to political decisions is also involved.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree, preferably with a focus on public administration, law, political science, or who has experience working as a committee secretary. It is important that you have good knowledge of the Local Government Act and the Administrative Procedure Act. You have experience working in a politically governed organization. Important for the position is a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office programs. Experience working in case management systems, being system responsible for operational systems, and having worked with issues related to general elections is an advantage. As a person, you have a high level of service and good collaboration skills and can build good relationships with those you meet in your work. You are also meticulous, stress-resistant, and solution-oriented.
