ICA Logistics in Västerås is establishing one of Sweden's most modern frozen warehouses – a highly automated facility with smart systems and efficient flow control. We are now strengthening our Technology and Automation team in Västerås and hope that you want to join us on this exciting journey.

About the role As a Technology Developer at ICA, you will play a key role in optimizing, developing, and future-proofing our automation systems. You will work both strategically and operationally with technology and process development, ensuring the availability and efficiency of systems, and driving innovation projects. In collaboration with internal and external partners, such as our automation supplier, you will work to improve processes, technology, and maintenance strategies.

Your main responsibilities:

Continuously improve and optimize existing automation systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

• Be responsible for the entire lifecycle of technical equipment – from procurement and installation to maintenance and decommissioning.
• Ensure that technical systems and interfaces integrate smoothly and work together.
• Drive and participate in innovation projects to develop and improve technical solutions.
• Monitor operations and analyze KPIs to ensure optimal performance, as well as develop relevant KPIs.
• Ensure that service agreements are followed and that services are delivered as agreed.

We are looking for you with a post-secondary education in automation, electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer engineering, industrial economics, or equivalent. You have several years of experience working with automated systems, both strategically and operationally, and have a good understanding of project management and processes.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have extensive knowledge of safety aspects within industrial automation and a good understanding of industrial communication standards such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, or Ethernet/IP.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems, process control. Understanding of electrical systems and circuit diagrams is an additional plus.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required for the position.
