Staffing Assistant for the Cardiology Department

Job Responsibilities
As a staffing assistant, you will have overall responsibility for daily staffing at the Cardiology Department. You will support unit managers in both short- and long-term planning based on staffing goals, care load, and cost-effectiveness. The job involves daily contact with teams, participation in morning meetings, and close dialogue with the manager about staffing conditions.
You will handle leave requests, shift changes, and contact with the Resource Unit, as well as staffing for weekends and holidays. You will administer personnel planning in the Heroma and TESSA systems, where you will be responsible for scheduling, monitoring absences, clock-ins, postings, and balances.
Your role also includes introducing new employees, planning training, and being the HSA editor, which means you will manage permissions, certificates, SITHS cards, and IT-related orders. You play a key role in creating conditions for a well-functioning and safe care organization.
About the Workplace
The Cardiology Department is part of the Medicine Clinic at Västmanlands Hospital Västerås and offers highly specialized cardiac care. Here, patients with various heart diseases are treated, with a particular focus on coronary artery disease. The department collaborates closely with the angio/PCI lab, heart clinic, and research units, enabling an integrated care process for patients.
Västmanlands Hospital Västerås has been recognized for its outstanding myocardial infarction care and was ranked as the best in Sweden in 2022 according to the national quality registry Swedeheart.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a high school education focused on administration, healthcare, or another relevant field. It is an advantage if you also have post-secondary education in areas such as personnel administration or healthcare administration.
You have previous experience in administrative work, preferably with scheduling or staffing planning. Experience in the healthcare sector and working with systems such as Heroma and TESSA is particularly advantageous.
You have good computer skills and work in a structured and independent manner while being able to collaborate easily. The role requires good communication skills, as you will have daily contact with colleagues, patients, and relatives. You are proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Employment Conditions
Permanent position, full-time, daytime.
