Regional Lawyer at Region Västmanland

Job Responsibilities
We offer a varied and challenging job with significant personal responsibility, but as part of a group with other lawyers and information security specialists. You will operate within a broad legal area in a large and multifaceted organization and have good opportunities to develop your skills and personal network.
The position involves meeting the various needs of the region's operations for qualified legal advice, and you will serve as an expert in various working groups, projects, and investigations. The role of the regional lawyer is advisory and supportive, in close collaboration with other competencies within the region's various operations.
The range of assignments is significant, from corporate strategic issues to purely operational matters. Examples of tasks include representing legal perspectives in various projects, reviewing and drafting contracts, disclosing documents and confidentiality assessments, legal investigations, and other opinions where there is a need for legal expertise. The central areas are health and medical care law, public access and confidentiality, administrative law, contract law, research law, as well as IT law and data protection law.
Other tasks may also occur within the framework of the role of the regional lawyer.

About the Workplace
Region Västmanland is responsible for health and medical care, dental care, and research in Västmanland. We also oversee parts of public transport, culture, and plan and coordinate development in the county.

Your organizational placement will be within the Legal and Information Security department, which is part of the regional office administration.
The department currently consists of three lawyers and two information security specialists, one of the lawyers is the head of legal and information security and also serves as chief legal counsel. We are now looking for a fourth lawyer to join our team.

Qualifications
You have a law degree and experience working with qualified legal issues in public operations. You have strong legal knowledge and well-founded expertise in public law and civil law. You have very good knowledge in matters concerning public access and confidentiality. It is an advantage if you have good knowledge in the areas of health care and data protection law, IT law, and legal information security. To succeed in the position, you need experience in independent legal work in public operations, or as a qualified advisor for public operations. Experience in legal work within a health and medical care organization or a larger politically governed organization is an advantage for the position.
We expect you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language as the execution of tasks requires high precision and quality in legal documentation as well as very good communication skills towards various actors who are not lawyers themselves.
In addition to your strong legal knowledge, we place great importance on your personal qualities, such as your ability to deliver well-founded and thoughtful advice based on a solution-focused and responsive approach. Since the tasks are varied and qualified, you need to have good judgment and be able to prioritize well. You structure and drive your work with high integrity and you enjoy creating new contacts, building relationships, and developing collaborations. Your service orientation is high and you adapt easily and collaborate well with different actors. We are looking for someone who has an interest in development issues and who actively works to identify and enable well-balanced solutions for our operations.
Employment Conditions
Permanent employment, full-time, and daytime. Start date according to agreement. The position allows for partial remote work when the operations permit.
