Special Educator for Gråbo Preschools

Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing a development-intensive period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure both good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.

The Gråbo Preschools unit consists of five preschools: Fågelkärr, Rösekullen, Ljungvik, Olstorp, and Bäckamaden. We are three principals who lead our unit in a common direction through distributed leadership. In Gråbo Preschools, we also have our own educational supervisor, administrator, and caretaker.

We have an ongoing development project in Gråbo Preschools where we collectively deepen our understanding of our stance "The Narrating Child" which focuses on children's participation and influence. We use pedagogical documentation and base our approach on project-based learning. We have a strong focus on Sustainability and Agenda 2030.

For us, it is important that all children are in contexts that create meaning, where they feel respected and listened to for their way of thinking and understanding the world. We believe that children have the right to experience projects/processes that make an impression, where thoughts can be expressed and leave a mark in many different ways. The child's curiosity and creativity should be highlighted as the driving force in the contexts created in preschool. We think it is important that children's voices are heard in society as they are part of our democracy. Through this, we can create contexts that allow children to understand and make a difference in the world we live in.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special educator, you will:

  • Work preventively and health-promoting at both individual and group levels.
  • Support educators in their assignments and develop their approaches.
  • Create and maintain trusting relationships, as the work involves many contact points.
  • Work in a team with the unit's educational supervisor to ensure a holistic view of the work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an educated and licensed special educator.
  • Has experience from various types of operations such as child group work, schools, student health teams (EHT), and resource activities.
  • Is confident in your role and open and receptive to different perspectives.
  • Understands how the special educational perspective is linked to the unit's direction and stances.
  • Is stable, creative, self-driven, and flexible.
  • Is well-versed in preschool governing documents and current research in special education.
  • Has the ability to organize and plan your work well.

We see that you are courageous, straightforward, and relationship-building in your approach. You contribute to educators daring to challenge themselves and develop their work.
